Our Services
I have been stewing over this for three years now. I can say that Nixon's did a fine job moving my piano (the cost was $250). The part that gets bad and very wrong is that I was told I should have them "service" the player piano - clean and thoroughly check it out before storing it. I agreed - even though it was an additional $1000+ to do so. I had to leave town so I had a friend waiting for them to clean and deliver. I heard NOTHING from them for a five weeks. When I called, it turned out that the manager (could be he was the owner) was taking EMT courses and his car had been stolen along with all of his school work and papers. He apologized for being distracted and he admitted that the piano had NOT been worked on. Amazingly, it was completed a few days later. Since I never saw it until it was moved up to Oregon, I never had the chance to play it and see "how well it would play." My mistake. It appears to have never been cleaned and if they did happen to wipe it down, the pedals are not pumping correctly so (which they were before having it worked on.) I spent roughly $1500 for moving, cleaning, and repairing on a very valuable antique that needs to be fixed again - and hopefully correctly this time. My piano was definitely not a priority for them - money was though.

If you ever need your piano moved to a new location or just need it to be cleaned then this is the place for you! This business even does furniture repair and refurbishing. I had called about a Walnut Burlwood dresser and was quoted around $1,800 for a full top-to-bottom refurbishing. I was also told that my dresser would be finished in around 6-8 weeks. It seemed to me that my only issue happens to be that it actually took around 10 weeks to complete. Now i can be a little short fused when it comes to patience, BUT I received my dresser it was like I had purchased it brand new. I cannot express how professional this business handled my furniture. I'll definitely be coming back if I ever need any more furtniture refurbished.

dropped my 110 year old chickering grand piano on the ground, damaging it, while the second guy just stood there not helping to move it. disgustingly careless, unprepared, and incompetent.

Five stars for Nixon's Oak Tree House as piano movers! This rating is for piano moving only. This is a first class professional piano moving company. They gave me a three hour window for when they would be there. They were there as promised. I was having a baby grand piano moved.. no easy task for those of us that don't know how to do it. Probably would take three or four strong guys to get the job done. They did it with just two guys. One employee said that he has been moving pianos for twenty five years! They had the equipment and expertise to not just get the job done, but to do it correctly with not problems or issues! In and out within 30 minutes! Don't try and do a job like that yourself.. risk hurting yourself and damaging the piano. Hire professionals to do it. It look sooo easy when you are watching them! 🙂

I have used Nixon's Oak Tree / piano movers for years. Scheduling an appointment is always easy; phone calls always returned promptly, and Bob and his crew are professional, reliable, knowledgable, and very courteous. They are always willing to work with tight schedules of the customer to accommodate the customer's needs. I won't use anyone else to move pianos. I have used their services at least 10 separate times over the last decade for a baby grand, console, and upright pianos. They use the most ultimate caution and care. On the antique baby grand piano, they moved it to my neighbors' home after taking to their shop and thoroughly cleaned, restored, tuned, polished and inspected all elements, then delivering the pristine baby grand, and it was beautiful! Better than I could ever expect. I give them the highest rating for moving, service and detailing the piano. They have been in business for years and for good cause. I should just put NIxon's on speed dial. The prices are VERY reasonable too. Thank you Bob Nixon for all your hard work and professionalism. Sincerely, repeat customer Tracy in Modesto.

I purchased an upright piano and had no clue how to move it to my home. Scheduling the pickup meeting was a breeze, these two gentlemen were very communicative, on time, and friendly. They had my new piano loaded up and secured in no time flat. They got it safely to and into my home. They recommend a local piano tuner, as well as some cleaning tips for the piano. I'd recommend these guys to anyone.

Nixon's Oak Tree House did a fantastic job of taking an old, ugly grandfather clock and turned it into a beautiful heirloom! The hidden details and woodworking was a wonderful surprise. They rebuilt and replaced many missing or broken areas. They took extra precautions to protect and save it's historical record from 1803 that was written in pencil on the door's inside . Nixon's took the necessary time to safely protect and refurbish, but the end result was worth the wait. All of my kids want me to pass it down to them.

I would not hesitate to recommend Nixon's Oak Tree House. They restored an antique wood rocking horse for me. The end product more than justified the expense and the wait. It took four months of painstaking hard work and attention to detail to create the magnificent final product. It's very rare to find craftsmen who enjoy their work and settle for nothing less than perfection.

I had tables and chairs refinished and some upholstery work done to the chairs and from start to finish Bob, Jenny and Dick at Nixon's Oak Tree House we're friendly, responsive, so knowledgeable in their craft and reasonably priced for services. This is a wonderful local reliable service I wouldn't hesitate to use again or recommend to others!

Exceptional restoration on my mother's 1948 hope chest. It is now a family heirloom, thanks to Nixon's Oak Tree House!

My old 1920's chaise lounge was looking pretty shot, almost beyond repair.I love that thing and got lucky when I found Nixons Oak Tree House. He accepted it and transformed that chaise into a beautiful antique fit for royalty. That kind of talent, skill, expertise, reliability and honesty are hard to find these days. A++++ service. Excellent work and very detail-oriented. I brought my grandmothers coffee table in to just get one of the legs reattached and when I saw their work that they had done for other clients, I was very impressed. I decided to go ahead and have the table completely redone. It is amazing to see how elegant this table is again and now my kids can grow up with it, like I did.

I needed a small fix to my bed frame. Not only were they easy to communicate with, I was able to drop by same day. A quote wasn’t able to be made from the pictures I sent, but they gave me a rough estimate of $45-$200 depending on what the fix entailed once they saw it. I thought I would have to leave it for a while until they could get to it, but they were kind and fixed it right away. The staff was very friendly and kind, even to my toddler who was ready to explore their work area. My bed works wonderfully now and I’m so grateful. Thank you!

I have a family heirloom, a nearly 100 year-old Rand McNally globe that had been a fixture in my grandmother's house as far back as I can remember. It had never been worked on in all that time, and it was looking its age. My search eventually took me to Nixon's Oak Tree House, and I can't say enough about the amazing transformation they performed! There were many elements to this project - the wooden stand, the brass meridian and all its parts, the badly worn spinning mechanisms at the "poles," and the slowly fading ink on the globe surface. *Each and every one* of these aspects was carefully planned and painstakingly executed, and the result is simply stunning. If you need a truly outstanding, museum level of craftsmanship for something you treasure, I give this business my highest recommendation. Thank you, Nixon's! PS. Somewhere, grandma is smiling 😇
